AFAS Executives Present Administrative Budget for the 2022/2023 Academic Session

The Association of Faculty of Arts Executive Council has on Friday, September 15, 2023 presented its proposed administrative budget for the 2022/2023 academic calendar to the Faculty Legislative Council (FLC) at a plenary session held at Room 71, Faculty of Arts.
In a document jointly signed by AFAS President, Olaniyi Esther, and the General Secretary, Adedeji Olawunmi Wilhelm, the proposed budget was structured according to the expenses expected to be made in the offices of the President, Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Director of Publicity and Information, Director of Sports, Director of Socials and Welfare, and Treasurer.
According to the proposed budget, the office of the President proposed to spend 35,300 naira; the office of the Vice President to spend 20,000 naira; the offices of the General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary, 60,500 naira, and 17,850 naira for Secretariat expenses; office of the Financial Secretary, 55,600 naira; office of the Director of Publicity and Information, 14,700 naira; office of the Director of Sports to spend 95,600 naira, while the offices of the Director of Socials and Welfare, and the Treasurer proposed to spend 70,300 naira and 14,800 naira, respectively. Collectively, the budget totalled 384,650 naira. The President led the presentation of the proposed budget, followed by the Vice President, and each of the other executives, except the Director of Social and Welfare, all of whom highlighted the content of the proposed expenditure of their respective offices.
Each budget presentation was trailed with suggestions of modification of the proposed budget by the House and the budget presentation of the Director of Social and Welfare was adjourned to the next sitting due to time constraint.
