Junior Chamber International (JCI), University of Ibadan, has sworn in 73 newly inducted members on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the 2nd General Assembly and Induction ceremony which was held at the Faculty of Science Large Lecture Theatre.

Leading the oath-taking session, the Local Organizing President, Ojo Boluwatife Waheed congratulated the newly inducted members for being worthy of selection as members of JCI UI despite the number of people who applied.

“I am glad to welcome you as bonafide Jaycees of the JCI University of Ibadan as you can now raise motions and make contributions during the general assembly,” he said.

Speaking on the keynote topic: “Inclusive Leadership for Organisation Unity”, Mr Olugbenga Ogunbowale, the Chief Executive Officer of Grant Master, described leadership without inclusion as a ‘figurehead’ and highlighted the qualities of inclusive organizations.

Also, addressing the theme of the induction ceremony: “Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Promoting the Culture of Leadership and Individually”, the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of ILEMOORE.COM, stressed that entrepreneurship is not limited to trading but also extends to entrepreneurship checklists like problem-solving solving, technological-inclined solution, value proposition and risk-taking. He also advised students to focus on their primary assignments on campus to graduate with good grades.

“Entrepreneurship is more than trading. I would implore you to imbibe the spirit of an entrepreneur by coming up with problem statements, and innovative and tech-inclined solutions. I would also encourage you not to skip class and focus on your grade but you can always work full-time during break or strike period,” he said.

In recognition of their outstanding contributions, dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence, awards were presented to both keynote and theme speakers.

In addition, awards were presented to Jaycee Islamiyah Olayemi, Jaycee Onifade Temitayo, and Jaycee Olosho Wareez, who were announced as the most outstanding new member, most efficient board member, and most outstanding board member, respectively.
