Jaw War 2024: Arts L&D President Emerges Best Speaker in the Second Leg of the Hall Categories

The President of The Literary and Debating Society (TLDS), Faculty of Arts, a 400-level student of the department of English, emerged as the best speaker for the second round of the hall category with 83% points, in the ongoing Jaw War debate competition, which took place at the NFLT, Faculty of Technology on Saturday, February 3, 2024.

Olayide represented his hall of residence, the Lord Tedder Hall, on the topic “A Unified Currency for Africa: Beneficial or Detrimental” in which the Tedder Hall garnered 75.72% points defeating her opponent, Alexander Brown Hall with 75.34% points.

Meanwhile, Queen Idia Hall, Nnamdi Azikwe Hall, Ransome Kuti Hall, Obafemi Awolowo Hall and Lord Tedder Hall have all qualified for the quarter-finals which is set to be held at NFLT on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
