The Association of Faculty of Arts Legislative Council has placed a member of the House  representing the History constituency, Honourable Olalusi Susan, on an indefinite suspension, during the plenary session that was held on Friday, February 9, 2024.

This was contained in the resolution of the House jointly signed by the Speaker of the House, Hon. Alagufon Luqman and the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Janet Meziem.

Olalusi was reported to have walked out during the plenary session to show her dissatisfaction over the process of adoption of a motion when the house was  debating on whether the presentation of AFAS dues receipt should be made compulsory for the signing of course forms.

She was also said to have “besmirched” the FLC and the association on her WhatsApp status, an act which violates Article 47, Section A (i-v) of the AFAS constitution.

An honorable member who was displeased with this democratic process stormed out of the House and besmirched the name of the FLC and the Association in unprintable words on her WhatsApp status. By doing so, she violated Article 47: Section A (i-v) of the AFAS Constitution, as amended. The House, in accordance with the stipulations of the AFAS constitution, therefore indefinitely suspended Hon. Susan from the FLC,” the resolution read.
