UI Management Receives NUC On Assessment Visit

The management of the University of Ibadan has received the team of monitoring officers of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure, Services and Human Resources in the Nigerian University System (NUS), from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on an assessment visit of the school’s ICT facilities. The team comprised Mrs Jumai Alabi, Mr Oriabure Iyayi, and Mr Asabi Samuel.

While receiving the team, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale, commended the regulatory role of NUC as it had helped Nigerian universities discharge their duties towards national development. He pledged the institution’s support to the team to achieve the aim of their visit.

Expressing his belief in the relevance of the visit, Professor Adebowale said that it would enable the federal government to identify the areas of intervention in implementing ICT development and virtual learning, especially in federal government institutions of learning.
He also noted that UI became fully integrated in virtual learning during COVID-19, and will not cease to improve on its ICT compliance in its operations.

In her response, the leader of the team and NUC Deputy Director on Establishment Matters, Mrs Jumai Alabi, said that the visit was basically on the assessment of the school’s ICT, infrastructure, service delivery, available human resources and relevant skills on the ground according to the assessment form submitted to the NUC in December 2023.

She assured the school management that the exercise would be beneficial to the end users as it would provide necessary information to the government and the NUC.
