In a recent development regarding the remuneration of the Association of Students of European Studies (ASES) female football team, AFAS Press gathered that the team will receive certificates of participation. The decision was confirmed by Honourable Adeyeye, the representative for the ASES constituency, during a conversation with AFAS Press correspondent.

According to Honourable Adeyeye, the team will be awarded a total of 13 certificates of participation, 12 of which will go to each team player, Coach and Assistant Coach, while the 13th certificate will go to the department in place of a trophy that was awarded to the male team winners, as approved by the Faculty Legislative Council (FLC) in its last sitting. Contrary to expectations, the team will not be receiving a trophy, but a certificate for their department.

The delay in remunerating the team, as explained by Honourable Adeyeye, stemmed from various factors, including the sponsorship arrangement of the last Dean’s Cup Tournament. She clarified that the tournament was sponsored by the previous Sigma chief, with no provision made for the female team.

Additionally, the impeachment of the previous Sports Director and the subsequent need for a hastily organised committee for the tournament further contributed to the delay in recognising the achievements of the ASES female football team.
