Junior Chamber International Organises Inter-Family Oratory Competition

The Junior Chamber International Nigeria, University of Ibadan ( JCIN UI) organised an inter-family oratory competition at the New Lecture Theatre, Department of Chemistry, University of Ibadan, on the 9th of March, 2023.

The Ibrahim Hammed Inter-Family Oratory Competition themed “Unity in Diversity: The Headway for Nigeria Ethnic Rivalry” saw sixteen participants from eight families compete against each other. The event was in two parts— the oratory competition and debate competition.

For the debate competition, Omotshola Family emerged winners, while Taiwo Ande Family and Utho Eruore family came second and third respectively.

Also, in the oratory competition, Smith-Waheed Gbolahan family clinched the first position, Taiwo Ande family came second, leaving  Lanre Bello with the third position.

At the end of the competition, certificates of participation were issued to all participants. Also, a sum of 100,000 naira was given to the first position of the  Oratory Contest, Samson Favour. Second place holder was awarded 50,000 naira, and the third positioner got a sum of 30,000 naira.

For the debate category, the winner was awarded a sum of 70,000 naira. While the second and third positions went home with 50,000 naira and 30,000 naira respectively. Other participants were awarded 10,000 naira each.
