The Association of Faculty of Arts Students Faculty Legislative Council (AFAS FLC) approved 1,187,000 naira for the production of souvenirs, t-shirts, and books for faculty package. Following the presentation of the budget by the AFAS President, Olaniyi Esther, on the 9th of March, 2024 during the FLC emergency sitting at the New Faculty Building.
In the content of the budget, 146,500 naira was budgeted for outfits (t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies), 420,000 naira for souvenirs (tote bags), 480,000 naira was earmarked for the production of books, and 140,500 naira for the production of faculty ID cards.
However, in the case of the souvenirs, the House directed the AFAS President to conduct a poll on the choice of souvenir of AFASites, as she only presented one item, tote bag, to the House.
Also, due to the state of the country’s economy, the House agreed that there should be a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Association and the Publisher of the books to ensure that hike in price doesn’t affect the previous agreement for the first batch of production.
Also, The House received a letter from Rt. Hon. Olusoji Akindejoye, the immediate past Speaker of the House, applauding the efforts of the FLC and encouraging the House to do more.
