AFAS Loses to NUESA at the Inter-faculty Female Football Semi-finals

The AFAS female football team, despite an early lead, lost by one goal to NUESA in a penalty shootout today, 18th March, 2024, at the SUB mini pitch.

The match started with the AFAS team scoring a goal in the early minutes of the game, the first half ended with a one-nil scoreline in the first half with NUESA unable to score an equaliser.

As the second half unfolded, AFAS continued to dominate the field, holding onto their lead. However, towards the end of the second half, the NUESA team regained possession and scored an equaliser to end the match in a one goal draw.

With both teams deadlocked at the end of the game, the match progressed into a penalty shootout. A total of 5 penalties were played by both teams, with AFAS losing all three and NUESA scoring one out of the two played.

Therefore, the penalty shootout ended in 1 goal to nil, with NUESA winning the match and advancing to face FASSA in the finals, while AFAS will play with TESA for a third place win.
