Fee Hike: Management Reaches Out to UI’SU, to Meet on Monday

In response to the ongoing call for the rejection of the increment in school fee, the University management has called for a meeting with University of Ibadan Students’ Union (UI’SU).
The meeting is scheduled to hold on Monday, May 6, 2024.
In a release made available to AFAS Press on Friday, the union stated that the University management had reached out to the students’ body today, which was followed by a meeting held with the Students’ Affairs Division and some principal officers of the University.
“ In response to our request, the university management reached out today. The union executives had a meeting with the students affairs division, and equally had conversation with some of the principal officers of the university management. “
To ensure equal representation and a strong advocacy, the union called on other stakeholders to attend a meeting scheduled to be held tomorrow at the SRC Chamber by 4:00pm.
“In order to ensure that the meeting is representative, we have requested that some other stakeholders be allowed to join the meeting. We are equally calling on all stakeholders who were invited to the last stakeholders meeting tomorrow, by 4:00PM at the SRC Chamber.” The release reads in part.
Also, the union advised the freshers to hold on concerning the payment of fees and registration while the issue is being resolved.
“ To our esteemed fresher’s, we call on you to continue to exercise patience with the payment of fees, and registration while we work to resolve this.”
