Amnesty International Calls On UI Management to Rescind Plans on Protesting Students
Amnesty International, a global human rights group, has called on the management of the University of Ibadan to “expel students for exercising their human rights”.
Amnesty International made this call on Tuesday in a post on X. Recall that Aduwo Ayodele, Nice Linus and Olamide Gbadegeshin were invited to a disciplinary panel earlier.
“Amnesty International call on the University of Ibadan @UniIbadan to rescind plans to expel 3 students for exercising their human right; by participating in protest against outrageous fee hike that — so far — forced many students to withdraw from university education:,”
“The University of Ibadan had invited the three students: Olamide Gbadegeshin, Aduwo Olayinka and Nice Linus to appear before a ‘disciplinary committee’ in what appears to be an attempt to intimidate them. In the face of worst economic crisis, universities should be reducing fees,” the tweets read.
