AFAS FLC Approves N212,950 for Executive Offices

The Association of Faculty of Arts Students’, Faculty Legislative Council (AFAS FLC) has approved the budget of N212,950 for the executive administative offices in the 3rd Plenary Sitting of the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

The Office of the President proposed a budget of N50,600 for administrative dues and duties which was ratified to N41,600. The Secretariat comprising of the Office of the General Secretary and the Assistant General Secretary submitted a budget of N45,550 ratified to N45,550. The Office of the Director of Socials presented a budget of N77,500 ratified to N55,000. The Office of the Director of Information and Publicity presented a budget of N34,000 ratified to N36,000. The office of the Treasurer presented a budget of N34,800 ratified to N34,800.

The budget which totaled as N242,450 as proposed budget was ratified by the house to N212,950. The ratified budget was approved with the motion raised by Hon. Yeboah Daniel and seconded by Hon. Adeboye Temidayo (co-opted member) that “the proposed budget of the Office of the President, the Office of the General Secretary and the Assistant General Secretary, the Office of the Director of Socials, the Office of the Director of Information and Publicity, and the Office of the Treasurer be approved with no supplementary budget with exceptions to vacant offices”. 

The executive added a concluding section to the proposed budget titled The Expenses So Far. The FLC however did not attend to the addendum which was not an agendum for the sitting. The addendum was handed over to the Investigation and Audit Committees to confirm expenses and bring the report to the next sitting where it will be addressed.
