‘We remain subject to higher authority’ Says AFAS FLC Speaker as Faculty Management Cleared Mojuba

The Faculty of Arts Legislative Council has dropped the disciplinary measures against AFAS president, Adeniyi Olamilekan (Mojuba) due to the issues surrounding the rejoinder he released recently.

This is contained in a special release dated July 30th, 2024, signed and made available to AFAS Press  by FLC speaker, Rt. Hon. Olajide Miqdad. 

According to the FLC speaker, the development followed the decision of the faculty management, who had cleared the allegations levelled against AFAS president by the FLC.

“ Dear Esteemed Afasites

I Rt. Hon Olajide Miqdad use this medium to inform you that Olamilekan Adeniyi (Mojuba), President of AFAS, has been cleared of the charges against him by the management as regards the rejoinder sent out by him. All disciplinary measures against him are hereby dropped and nullified. I want AFASites to understand that the powers of the FLC are not getting undermined. However, the management has cleared him, and all disciplinary actions against him are hereby dropped and nullified.

As the Speaker of the FLC, I recognise and appreciate the power of the Legislative Council as a whole but I want us to be aware that still, we remain subject to higher authority. I want to assure the general populace that AFAS FLC is committed to upholding fairness and justice. No actions will be taken against any individual without a fair hearing.

I want to assure the general populace that AFAS FLC is committed towards the betterment and welfare of the association.

It should be recall that the FLC had earlier postponed the deliberation on the effectiveness of the disciplinary pronouncements against Mojuba to Monday, July 29th, 2024.
