‘Faculty management has nullified FLC disciplinary pronouncements’ – Mojuba

AFAS President, Adeniyi Olamilekan, has claimed that Faculty of Arts’ management has nullified the disciplinary pronouncements made by the Faculty Legislative Council.
In a release dated 29th of July, 2024 and made available to AFAS Press, he explained his innocence as regards the accusations levelled against him by the FLC in the last plenary session, adding that he was misinterpreted in the rejoinder he wrote and denied the right to fair hearing.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to reiterate my innocence as regards the accusations made by the house on July 27, 2024. Unfortunately, I was not given the opportunity to defend myself against the misinterpretation of my previous rejoinder. Nevertheless, I am pleai to inform you that the management has nullified all disciplinary pronouncements after verifying the facts. I hope Rt. Honourable Miqdad, AFAS FLC Speaker will also address the issue and prove my innocence.
I assure you that I am committed to maintaining genuine peace and in the Faculty’s atmosphere this session and beyond. Furthermore, the management has agreed to grant an interview session to AFAS Press to clarify the legal constitution of our association.
As the president of this prestigious association, I am dedicated to upholding our reputation and integrity. I will not engage any actions that could lead tarnish our image.

Recall that FLC had in the last sitting on Saturday pronounced a disciplinary measures on Mojuba for breaching AFAS constitution, showing disregard to the FLC and the speaker and meddling into the affairs of the FLC. However, the measures has been put on hold for further deliberation by the FLC.
