Super Bowl Returns After 5-Year Hiatus

Superbowl, a public speaking contest involving speakers from various tertiary institutions is set to hold Friday 20th December, 2024 at the Alumni Centre, University of Ibadan.
The event organised by Dr. ‘Bisi Olawuyi, a lecturer of the department of Communication and Language Arts, University of Ibadan had its history dated back to 2007 when the first edition was hosted in the University.
The 8th Edition of the oratory contest organised in conjunction with the Student Affairs of Oyo State is themed “This is Nigeria”. The competition will be hosting 14 tertiary institutions to combat with wits and words. The speakers will be speaking to the theme at the onset of the contest before it graduates to battle of wits and words.
According to a publication by the Nation on the last edition done in 2019, Dr. Olawuyi started the competition in 2007 to provide a platform for students to interact within the university community with a view to presenting strong leadership models for the youths.
