The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Miqdad Olajide in the last plenary session asserted that the delay in the commencement of the Deans’ Games was caused by the payment of dues and verification by the Investigation Committee.

He made this assertion in response to Hon. Olufemi’s question under the Any Other Business in the agenda of the sitting, adding that the clause made at the last sitting where the budget of the Deans’ Games was approved contributed to the delay.

Rt. Hon. Olajide stressed that the clause stated that until all the stipulated players’ dues have been verified the games cannot begin, hence, the situation at hand was prompted by the clause attached to the adoption of the budget of the event.

The speaker stated that “the games cannot start if the clause has not been satisfied”
