Philosophy Claims Third Successive Dean’s Cup Title in a Row

The department of Philosophy has defeated the Arabic and Islamic Studies to become the ultimate champion of the Faculty of Arts Dean’s Cup for the third consecutive time during the final match played on Friday, 7th of February at the Old Football Stadium, SUB.
Arabic and Islamic Studies (AIS) were the first to open the scoreboard in the first half, with their No. 9 lobbing the onrushing Philosophy goalkeeper, leaving him with no chance to make a save.
Philosophy was not to be denied their own scoring chances. Their talismanic striker, Papi, headed in a corner kick in the second half, ensuring the game ended in a stalemate at full-time.
After full-time, Philosophy went on to win the penalty shootout 5-4, thus claiming the gold medal in the competition.
At the closing ceremony, Papi was awarded the Most Valuable Player certificate, while Baloo carted away the Highest Goal Scorer certificate. Eleni was also awarded the Playmaker certificate, and Philosophy’s goalkeeper emerged as the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
