AFAS Press Editor-in-chief, Olanshile Ogunrinu, Emerges as 37th President of UCJUI

AFAS Press Editor-in-chief, Olanshile Ogunrinu, has on Saturday, February 15th, been elected as the 37th president of the umbrella body for all press organization in the University of Ibadan, Union of Campus Journalists
Olanshile, a 300-level student of the department of Communication and Language Arts, who currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of AFAS Press secured the victory with a total of 80 votes, against 3 void votes.
Reacting to the victory, Olanshile expressed his excitement and affirmed his commitment in ensuring not to disappoint campus journalists
“I am truly excited and deeply grateful for the overwhelming support I have received from our campus journalists. I fully recognize the weight of the responsibility that comes with this role, and I am committed to fulfilling it with dedication and the collective support of all stakeholders,” he said.
Other members of the Union’s executives elected in the elections include: Ayeye Toluwalope – Vice-President (Editorial), Ogunleye Moboluwarin – Vice-President (Administration), Faith Adediran – General Secretary, Shodipe Blessing Boluwatife –Financial Secretary, Siyanbola Victor – PRO II, Ojo Victoria Ayoolajesu –Assistant General Secretary.
The handover ceremony for the newly elected executives is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 1st at the Union’s Dinner and Handover Ceremony.
