AFAS Electoral College Announces Bye-Election Schedule

The Electoral College of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS), University of Ibadan, has announced the schedule for a bye-election to fill three vacant positions within the association.

According to a statement released by the recently-formed electoral college on Friday, 11th April 2025, the sale of nomination forms begins immediately and will end on Monday, 14th April 2025. The screening of aspirants will take place on Tuesday, 15th April 2025, while the election is scheduled for Wednesday, 16th April 2025.

The positions open for the bye-election are Treasurer, Financial Secretary, and Social & Welfare Director. Each form is priced at ₦2000 and is available to students in 200 to 400 levels.

To be eligible, aspirants must be financial members of the just-concluded session with a minimum CGPA of 2.5. Interested individuals are also required to present their AFAS dues receipt during the screening process

Forms can be obtained by contacting Ojo Afolasade, the AFAS Electoral College Secretary.

While the Electoral College apologised for the short notice, it noted that the timeline is fixed and there might be no extension on the sale of forms.
