AFAS PRESS: May we meet you?
Fadekemi: Yeah, I am Fadekemi Adetoba Dei-Lucem. I am a 300 level Classics student.

AFAS PRESS: How has the journey been for a 300l student in Classics?
Fadekemi: Well….It has been just God all through because normally the challenges brought to the table were sometimes overwhelming but all thanks to God. There were fun times too though(lol). I mean not all courses were draining. There were times I was so proud of being a student of my department too. Should I just say there were the beautiful, plain and not so cool times.

AFAS PRESS: What else do you do apart from schooling?
Fadekemi: I am a skincare vendor. I produce natural skin food. I am a face model. I sew too though not quite often and I have a “not fixed” food business.
AFAS PRESS: That’s quite incredible! How has it been for you?
Fadekemi: Jesus has been faithful. Although there were the “not so cool” times in business too but we move as always
AFAS PRESS: A good sense of motivation it is. Keep at it! Now that school has resumed, how have your virtual classes been?
Fadekemi: Thank you! DATA SUCKING! FRUSTRATING NETWORK! If these two are exempted, I think I would say it has been cool.
AFAS PRESS: How have you been coping with your classes and your business?
Fadekemi: My schedule is filled up but I have been pushing through thanks to God.
AFAS PRESS: How far do you want to go? Or like where do you see your business(es) in the next few years?
Fadekemi: I just started these businesses last year so they are still coming up yet promising. But in the next few years by God’s grace, they would have matured into a well-established skincare and fashion world.
AFAS PRESS: What motivated you to start your skincare business?
Fadekemi: I have always been a skincare addict. If there is something I can spend all my money on, that’s skincare.
Though, I used to change products hence I started having skin issues .The chemical contents of most products added up to the issue so when this business idea came(via the Holy Spirit),I saw it as a way of giving confidence and comfortability to every skin colour and types…I have always loved being a solution to problems hence when this medium came up, I knew it was for me.
AFAS PRESS: What are your highlights so far?
Fadekemi: I have got various reviews of intense acne, uneven tone, pimples, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks etc.
AFAS PRESS: In terms of product advert, how far can you go?
Fadekemi: Presently, the most effective platform I have been using is WhatsApp. Although I advertise on other platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter but so far, WhatsApp has been the most promising. So for now, especially with school stuffs again, it is WhatsApp.
AFAS PRESS: How well do you think the faculty should improve on awareness creation for its entrepreneurs?
Fadekemi: Wow, improve? Has there been any platform for that prior to now? But Oh….Okay
There should be tags of these businesses on the Faculty’ social media handles. Exhibitions can be held as a forum for entrepreneurs to showcase their services/goods too. This will do well I believe.
AFAS PRESS: How do your prospective clients reach out to you?
Fadekemi: Well, I have my marketing strategies. From BCs, which I have not been doing for some time now(its stressful), to videos talking about skincare tips or probably introducing new products on different platforms to sharing posts on skincare and its practices. If it is not directly on my page, I add my link when I am sending it out there so by clicking on that link, clients can contact me.
AFAS PRESS: Okay, can we get your handles?
Fadekemi: Sure, I’m on Instagram @Gwf_skincare,WhatsApp @09013571202 and Facebook @Gwf Skincare.
AFAS PRESS: That will be all. Thank you for your time.
