CPS ELECTS CHAIRMAN, SECRETARY

The Council of Presidents and Secretaries has elected the council’s Chairman and Secretary in an election that took place on Friday, the 19th of March. The election saw the emergence of Oguntibeju Peter (Schumpeter), President of the Department of Linguistics, as the new CPS Chairman, as well as Okewole Charles of the Department of History as the council’s Secretary.Oguntibeju secured the victory against his opponent, Olarinde Victor, from the Department of Music. In the same vein, Okewole secured his victory against his opponent Adeyinka Daramola of the Department of European Studies.
The position of the Vice President; however, remains vacant as no member contested for the position. According to the new CPS Chairman, the election of the Vice President will be conducted within the council. Oguntibeju promised to popularize the CPS among AFASites and cooperate with the Executive and Legislative council(s). Okewole also promised to work hand in hand with the Chairman.
The CPS is the third organ of the association; and it comprises two members, each, from the twelve departments within the faculty.
