OONI of Ife Honors Classics Student with Royal African Awards 2022.

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, OJAJA II, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, OJAJA has honored Daphne Adeola Ayo, a 400L student of Classics with the Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) Award of His Imperial Majesty.

Adeola who doubles as the present editor-in-chief for classics department press was honored for her academic excellence with a total CGPA of 3.89 after making the top 15 lists for the third edition. 

Wakeel Kehinde, a 400level student of Electronics and Electrical engineering was the other UI honoree of the award.

The ceremony took place at the Oduduwa Hall of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

Speaking after the recognition, Adeola was full of excitement for attaining this height. 

“I feel good. I am happy and glad that I was able to make my school proud,” she said over the phone with AFAS PRESS.

This award ceremony is part of the ongoing efforts by his imperial majesty to provide a “contemporary community of young people with finest aspirations of inspiring the future generations of the best and brightest that are irrefutably anchoring a new economic frontier by establishing innovative clusters through various mechanisms that can provide Africa its long-awaited prosperity and competitive advantage.”

Yearly, 100 selected outstanding young personalities are being honored in different categories of the award which covers five of RAYLF pillars of governance and leadership, technology and innovation, entrepreneurship and empowerment, creative culture, and academic excellence.
