At the plenary session which was held at Room 32, Faculty of Arts, on Saturday, 12 November 2022, AFAS Faculty Legislative Council placed a ban on the executive council from taking any money from the association’s account.

The ban was due to the failure of any member of the executive council to appear before the house to present the budget of the executive council.

The Speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Olasoji stated that the President said the executive council is not prepared to present the budget to the house. The House bemoaned the members of the executive’s disregard, stating it was not the first time they had come to the sitting to approve a budget from the council and ended up doing nothing.

After several reactions, Hon. Collins from Archaeology department moved the motion that the House places a ban on the executive council from withdrawing from the association’s account, in line with Article 14 of the constitution. Hon. Yunus from Classics seconded the motion. The motion was then passed by the house due to the absence of a counter motion.
