The Legislative Council of the Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS), in the plenary that was held during the weekend, voted in favour of reinstating Alawiye Israel (Prime), the Sports director of the association, following the two recommendations of the committee of the whole.

This decision was reached after much deliberation in the committee of the whole. The committee, following the report and  recommendations of the ad hoc committee, questioned the executive council members present at the sitting.

After the questioning, the committee had two recommendations: that the house uphold the third recommendation of the ad hoc committee which states that the Sports director be suspended for a semester or that the Sports director be reinstated, mandated to apologize and sign an undertaking with the four arms of the association that in a case where he is found guilty of any allegation, he be impeached.

After the committee of the hold session ended, the house resumed the plenary proper and the recommendations were put to a vote. Of the two recommendations, 7 Honourables voted for the latter, while 3 Honourables voted for the former.

In the report of the ad hoc committee, investigation had shown that Prime is guilty of all allegations and his suspension was warranted.

Recall that AFAS PRESS had previously reported that Alawiye was suspended for missing three consecutive virtual executive meetings, as well as three consecutive physical meetings without permission from the required authorities.
