Ckay or C-Rain: Saturday Night Concert Ruined for Uites

On Saturday, April 15th, University of Ibadan students gathered at the Student Union Building field for Ckay’s concert. However, the rain they did not foresee ruined their plans for fun and games with the Nigerian superstar. The rain started out so slowly that Uites thought they could brave it in pursuit of a good time with Ckay but everyone was left shocked and soaked by the sudden downpour and destruction of the sound and stage arrangements for the performance.

It all started out like a normal day, a sunny day with clear skies. The University of Ibadan students went about their day with anticipation for the night party and concert with the superstar Ckay. According to an eye witness’ account, the concert started out on a regular note, with upcoming artistes; Pneuma, 6ixx, Yungchizzy, among others performing first. Next came the bad boy DJs; D.J Twilight and Uncle Bubu, working their magic shuffling party songs for the crowd to vibe to. Broda Shaggi, the famous comedian, was also around to give the crowd a good show.

Then came the first disappointment of the night. The musician, Blaqbonez tweeted that he would not be available for the concert as was earlier planned. As if that was not enough, it was confirmed that Lojay and Crayon, other Nigerian superstars that were supposed to be present, would not be available for the concert.

After a long wait, the star of the show, Ckay arrived and began his performance. Unfortunately, a few minutes into his performance it started to rain. He initially intended to continue the performance to the delight of Uites but the rain suddenly became heavy and violent, leaving everyone drenched. The sound systems and stage arrangements were also damaged by the rain. As a result, Ckay had no other choice but to cancel the concert, to the dismay of Uites, leaving them disappointed and wondering if they would be refunded or if he would return.

The superstar cleared this up by tweeting, “rain you do this one, University of Ibadan, I’ll be back.” But when exactly will Ckay be back to give Uites the show they paid for?
