AFASIEC Commences Sales of Forms, Rolls out Requirement

The Electoral Committee, Association of Faculty of Art Students (AFASIEC), has, on Friday, July 6, commenced sales of nomination forms for intending aspirants in the forthcoming elections in the Association.
The Committee, through an announcement signed by its Chairman, Sulaimon Mikail, also announced that the sales of forms will end on 11th of July, 2023.
Stating the needed requirements, the Committee noted that aspirants contesting for the position of President and Assistant General Secretary must be a transiting 300L and 100L student respectively.
Adding to that, the Committee, in specific terms, added that aspirants contesting for elective position such as President, Vice-President and General Secretary must have at least a CGPA score of 3.0 (Second Class Upper Division) or above as an essential requirement, while aspirants for all other positions must have at least a CGPA score of 2.5 (Second Class Lower Division) or above.
The Electoral Committee also announced the elective offices, as provided for in Chapter 2, Article 10 of AFAS constitution, as positions that can be contested for. The designated price rate of the nomination forms for the offices were also revealed as follows: President – #5000; Vice President – #4,000; General Secretary – #4,000; Financial Secretary – #3,500; Treasurer – #3,500; Director of Social and Welfare Services – #3,500; Director of Sports – #3,500; Assistant General Secretary – #3,500, and Director of Information – #3,500.
The Electoral Committee noted that interested candidates can obtain the forms for these Executive Positions through the Treasurer of the Committee.
