AFASite Wins Music Talent Hunt, Gets N300m Worth of Prizes

Olabisi Esther, a 200-level student of the Department of Theatre Arts has, on Saturday, September 2, been awarded a cash gift of N10m, a brand new car, a three-year recording deal and other prizes worth N300m, after emerging as the winner of the maiden edition of Gospel Groove Talent Quest (GGTQ).

According to the company that sponsored the talent hunt, EeZee Concept, the talent hunt is aimed at discovering, empowering and growing young gospel music artists with a balance of ministry and industry principles.

When speaking to the Guardian Newspaper, Ben Ogbeiwi, the GGTQ Project Manager said the hunt is designed to give participants the opportunity to build a professional music career equipped with sound ministry values for the kingdom of God as gospel music artistes.

“Our desire for this initiative is to create a global platform that will produce professional and resourceful gospel music artists with a burning passion to expand God’s kingdom through Jesus Christ. The winner will receive a three year recording deal worth 300m, which includes a car and a cash prize of 10m, among other consolations”, he said.

The competition which started in June with over 100 participants across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria was concluded on Saturday, 2nd of September, with Olabisi announced as the overall winner at the Grand Finale held in Lagos.

Speaking to AFAS Press, Olabisi described the winning as divine and credited to God.

“I can only say that it’s God and I’m honored by his love”. He supported me from the beginning through his men (you people), I felt the love and support from you guys and I just wanna say thank you so much for believing in me”, she said.
