Zik, Kuti, ABH, and Awo Sail to the Jaw War Semi Finals

Nnamdi Azikwe Hall, Ransome Kuti Hall, Alexander Brown Hall, and Obafemi Awolowo Hall have sailed through to the semi finals of the Jaw War competition, following the victory over their opponents in the quarter finals round of the hall category held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre.
The category which featured six halls competing against each other, kicked-off with Ransome Kuti hall and Queen Idia hall debating on the topic “Is Cancel Culture A Credible Form Of Protest”, with Kuti hall emerging as the winner with 66.16% and Idia hall with 63.3%.
Nnamdi Azikwe hall competed against Lord Tedder hall on the topic “Did European Colonization in Africa Have a Positive or Negative Impact On It?” Nnamdi Azikwe clinched victory with 70.83% over Tedder’s 66%.
Also, Obafemi Awolowo hall contested against Alexander Brown hall on “Nigeria Prison System: A tool for Reformation”, with Alexander Brown hall claiming superiority with 74.16% over Obafemi Awolowo hall who had 68.83%.
Although Obafemi Awolowo hall lost to ABH, it would be proceeding to the semi finals as it was announced as the Best Loser of the quarter finals of the hall category.
The semi finals is scheduled to be held in February 16, 2023.
