Philosophy Defeats Animal Science 3 Goals to Nil at the Super Cup Finals

At the finals of the University of Ibadan Student Union’s Maiden Super Cup competition, Philosophy emerged as the winner after beating Animal Science 3 goals to nil.

The Super Cup tournament is a newly introduced football competition where winners of the Faculties Dean’s Cup competition compete at the University level.

The match which was slated for 4:00 pm, started with Philosophy taking the lead. Philosophy’s first goal at about 2 minutes in was disallowed because of a foul. The goal which was a result of a corner kick played by Awolowo was cancelled by the referee because of a push.

Both sides displayed and lost some beautiful chances, which later helped Philosophy secure two goals before the end of the first half. Philosophy seemed to be the stronger team as they garnered possession and maintained it till the end of the match. Philosophy’s obvious strength helped them secure a third goal in the second half to make the scoreline 3 goals to nil.

This particular win makes it the second win for Philosophy in competitions at the University level in one session. They have made a name for themselves as the best team to contend with at the University level. This in itself is an enviable feat.
