AFAS Reacts to Arrest of Protesting Students, Says it’s Unjust

The Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS) has on Monday condemned the arrest of one of its, Aduwo Ayodele, who was arrested alongside with other students, while carrying out a peaceful protest again the increment in fees during the inauguration of the newly sworn in executives of the University of Ibadan Student’s Union at Trenchard.

According to the statement signed by AFAS president, Adeniyi Olamilekan and the General Secretary, Abiola Samuel, the association is concerned about the student’s arrest and demanded for the release.

We unequivocally state that injustice to one member is an injustice to all and  therefore demand the immediate release of Ayodele Aduwo,” the statement reads.

Latest information as confirmed by Aduwo Ayodele, one of the arrested students, revealed that the arrested students have regained freedom.
