UI Abefele Arrests Students For Protesting Hike In Tuition Fees

The University of Ibadan Security Unit, also known as Abefele, have arrested four persons including an activist while protesting against an increase in school fees at the occasion of the inauguration of the new student’s union executives at Trenchard hall on Monday.

The arrested students are Aduwo Ayodele, Nice Linus and Mide Gbadegesin. Also, an activist, Femi Adeyeye, was arrested. 

The arrest on Monday follows the peaceful protest by raising placards calling for the reverse of the outrageous increment in school fees.

The arrested persons have been transferred from the school’s security unit where they were brutalized physically before handing them to the state Operation Burst.

SaharaReporters also reported how the students and the activist were arrested and detained by the school’s security.
