We are Committed to Good Governance – AFAS President, Speaker-Elect Says
Newly inaugurated AFAS President, Olamilekan Adeniyi ‘Mojuba’ and the Faculty Legislative Council’s Speaker Elect, Hon Olajide Miqdad have assured AFASites of their commitment to good governance over politics.
In the jointly signed statement made available to AFAS Press, the duo addressed the politics that has played out in the last few days especially issues bordering on the president’s intrusion in the legislative council’s election.
“As it may portray in the recent days how some games of politics were played, raising questions if the association will suffer crisis or clash of interest between the executives and the FLC members, most especially the Speaker-Elect and the President”
“We hereby write to you today to reassure you that the politics has ended. Therefore, both of us are ready to work hand in hand in line with constitution to ensure the association move forward,” the statement reads.
The duo also promised AFASites that issues bordering on personal interest will not impede the administrative duties of the arms during the session and the issues that have transpired will not influence the decisions of the arms.
“We are ready to recognize and respect your voices and to ensure that you enjoy good governance in the coming session.”
