UI Gets New Governing Council, as Former Senator Emerges Pro-Chancellor
After almost a year of having no governing council, the Ministry of Education has announced a new governing council for the University of Ibadan and other public institutions of learning in the country. Retired Brigadier-General Muhammad Mana, who represented the Adamawa North senatorial district on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) between 2007 and 2011, will serve as chairman of the University of Ibadan governing council.
According to the information uploaded on the Nigeria Ministry of Education’s website, the federal government has approved the constitution of governing council for federal institutions in Nigeria.
Aside from Senator Mohammed Mana, who is the chairman of the council, other members are; Alexander Oluremi Ajipe, Hajiya Indo Mohammed, Prof. Chris Ekong and Ifeoma Nwankwo.
