AFAS Concludes 3-Week Skill Acquisition Bootcamp

The Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS) has concluded the 3-week skill acquisition bootcamp on Saturday 3rd August, 2024.

The training which started on Saturday 20th July, 2024, according to Olamilekan Adeniyi (Mojuba), AFAS President had over 200 registered participants. In his words “It is very disheartening considering the number of students that registered for the training and those getting certificated”.

While speaking with AFAS Press, the president affirmed that the number of Certificates printed was sixty-five (65), which he mentioned was in line with the attendance submitted by the course tutors.

Recall that the boot camp had five tracks, the tutors for the tracks were; Mr. Eniola (Aremu Onifoto) – Photography, Mr. Oluwaniyi Idowu (Toms Design) – Graphics Design, Mr. Oluwadamilare Emmauel – Video Content Creation, Mr. Oluseye Oluwaseun (Active Don) – Resume and CV Writing, and Miss Favour Bello – Content writing sessions. 

After the last training session on Saturday, a certificate of recognition was presented to the tutors who facilitated the training sessions by the faculty executives.

Enilolobo Elizabeth, a 200-level English Student, who participated in the content writing session expressed her delight in the impact that the training had on her, in her words “I can see myself using it in the future, she (the tutor) gave us tools that one can use for content writing”. 

Another participant in the boot camp, Galoti Enyida, a 300-level student of Communication and Language Arts Student affirmed that “It was great, I learned practical stuff, I did not really know much about CV and Resume Writing before the training”
